I know of someone, who was brought up in an adopted home since an infant. Lacking parental love, the child did naughty things to gain attention. This child was looked down upon, beaten, and even abused. Once his adopted mother inflicted him with a severe injury, that almost killed him, and he had to be admitted to the hospital.
This poor little child had very deep intimacy with God. Whenever he cried out to God to save him from trouble, God immediately answered his cry. But as the child grew up, sins entered his life, and God no longer answered his prayer. Sins cut off our relationship with God. The Spirit of God departed from Saul due to his sin of disobedience (1 Samuel 16:14).
We must have a pure simple faith like a little child for “without faith it is impossible to please God.... ” (Hebrews 11:6). In Matthew 18:3, Jesus said:- “I tell you the truth, UNLESS you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.”
