Spiritual Maturity 【

Every Christian must grow towards spiritual maturity, into the image and likeness of Christ in order to truly live and walk in the Spirit. To attain this, our body which is the temple of God must be filled with the fullness of God, as God gives the Spirit without limit (John 3:34) and not just be contented with a little deposit of His Spirit when we were saved (2 Corinthians 1:22).

Growth is the goal of the Christian. Maturity is mandatory. If a child ceased to develop, the parents would be concerned. Doctors would be called. Tests would be run. When a child stops growing, something is wrong.

When a Christian stops growing, help is needed. If you are the same Christian a few years ago, be careful. You might be wise to get a checkup. Not on your physical body, but on your heart. Not a physical, but a spiritual.

God creates us first in the spirit and puts us in our earthly mother’s womb to be birthed with a physical earthly body. Our human spirit is entrapped in our sinful human body weighed down by earth’s gravity. Our flesh represents the physical human body. We need to free our human spirit entrapped in our physical body from the force of gravity. This requires God’s strength to strengthen us with power through His Spirit in our inner being (Ephesians 3:16).

This force bursting through the gravity of the flesh is like a rocket being launched into space. As a spacecraft in orbit can see earth very clearly, so a human’s spirit in such position can see things that others cannot see.

With the ability to see things clearer with the mind of Christ, we will not be critical with other God’s anointed like engaging in unhealthy gossip and petty talks, unknowingly heading in the same direction with our accusers. We should, instead encourage one another and build each other up, holding our brothers in the highest regard in love because of their work for the Lord and live in peace with each other (1 Thessalonians 5:11, 13)

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 3:1-3:-

“Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly-mere infants in Christ. I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere men?”

Everyone has a calling in the Body of Christ to serve His divine purpose to glorify His name so we just do what God wants us to do and not judge other ministries because we do not know how God works and we are not God.

Billy Graham quoted: “It is the Holy Spirit’s job to convict, God’s job to judge and my job to love.”
