In Matthew 7:21-23 about the true and false disciples, Jesus said:-
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”
In John 4:34, “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.
The devil has no hold over Christians if they are obedient and are in the will of God. We need to be in His will for our covering and protection against spiritual attack. Do not have any open doors in our lives, as Peter depicted in 1 Peter 5:8, “Be self-controlled and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”
Bill Johnson wrote in the Manifesto for a Normal Christian Life:-
“His presence is not upon us to be commandeered or directed by us. Instead, we are tools in his hand. If there is a dove resting on my shoulder in the natural (and I love that phrase ‘and remained’) and I don’t want it to fly away, how am I going to walk around this room? Every step will be with the dove in mind. Every movement I make will be to preserve what I value most.”
He further wrote:-
"The safest place in this war is obedience. In the center of His will, we face only the situations we are equipped to win. Outside of the center is where many Christians fall, facing undue pressures that are self-inflicted. His will is the only safe place to be."
In 2007, 23 South Korean missionaries went to Afghanistan against the advice of their church and country’s authorities. They were captured and held hostage by members of the Taliban while passing through Ghazni Province of Afghanistan and became a liability to their country.
The Israelites who left the covering of the cloud and fire pillars in the desert were bitten by snakes and scorpions. There are two kinds of sin before God: one is the sin of rebellion in disobeying what God has commanded us to do; the other is doing what God has not commanded at all.
Isaiah 1:19, “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; (V. 20) but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword...”
While Satan has “tremendous power” in this world, all of his power is subordinate to the authority that is vested in Christ. And he has no authority to do anything God does not permit for infinitely wise purposes, John Piper explains. Here is the link to the article:-
We give all glory to our Lord. Peace to all of you who are in Christ!
