Power and Authority (Part 2)

By His grace, God has called me into a unique ministry to carry the manifest presence of His fire and glory with a higher measure of the power and authority to cleanse, refine, purify and raise up Torchbearers or Fire Starters (Hebrews 1:7), including transforming lives. As I exercise the power and authority that God has given me, when I speak, miracles, signs and wonders takes place because the kingdom of God (His manifested fire & glory) goes with me. Praise God!

The Lord knows who are His people, whether they are saved and written in the Book of Life, so too, are the enemies. The devil knows you better than your pastor and he also knows your ranking in the Spiritual Realm on the measure of your God-given power and authority.

A man of God quoted:- “We will never win a single battle by our own wisdom or strength; it will only be by the power of the One who dwells within us. Therefore, the chief strategy of spiritual warfare is to get closer to the King and walk in greater obedience to Him. The degree to which we walk in true spiritual authority is determined by the degree to which the King lives within us.”

In 2014, my ministry partner and I were invited to preach in a Church in California. When I spoke, God confirmed His word with signs accompanied (Mark 16:20) and the power of God surged through a demon possessed lady. She fell from the chair to the floor, screaming repeatedly, ‘they are servants of the Most High God’ (Acts 16:16-17).

Acts 16:16-17

“Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.”

Paul then commanded the demon in Verse 18, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her.

The demon knew Apostle Paul, and submitted to the power and authority that he had.

The demon that possessed the lady also knew both of us. Praise God! But are we genuinely saved and our names written in the book of life?

Jesus told his disciples in Luke 10:20, “However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

This is the question that we must ask ourselves whether we are indeed saved. Jesus clearly said to those who did ‘signs & wonders’ to heal and prophesy in Matthew 7:21-23, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’???

Boldly Step Out In Faith - Ps Liam Choon Peng

How strange it is to entitle the chronicles of my key spiritual events with the above theme from Star Trek. I know.

On 31st December 2012 Watch Night Service at the Fountain of Life Assembly (FOLA), Nilai, I announced publicly that I would be making a major decision in the year of 2013. However I did not disclose what that major decision was. Deep inside me, I felt that my season in FOLA was drawing to an end and a new season was about to take place. It all started after I reflected on my spiritual pilgrimage from the point that I responded to the call of God in my life in 1981 till then. It began to dawn on me that the then season I was in seemingly resembled some past seasons, in the spiritual sense, where certain major moves were boldly taken. I was somehow convicted that the year of 2013 would be a transitional year that I would leap in with some significant changes.

My first acquaintance with Pastor Paul K. P. Ang started when he was invited to speak on Sunday services and Wingspread Conferences in FOLA, in 2011. He has a ministry to impart the fire of God to believers and to appropriate spiritual weapons of deliverance to break the strongholds in them. Often, manifestations accompany him whenever he ministers. I must admit that I then had a religious mindset that caused me to be careful and apprehensive of this kind of spiritual phenomena.

During one of the sessions of the Wingspread Conference organised by FOLA, I found myself being called to receive a ministry from him. While I was waiting for my turn, Pastor Paul Ang asked each of us what we wanted from the Lord. I did not have the slightest idea what to ask of him. Honestly, I was struggling within myself to answer this question. All of a sudden, an absurd thought dawned on me, ‘Ask everything that God has given to him’. I spoke out this exact thought when it came to my turn. Einstein once mentioned that if an idea is not absurd then there would not be hope for it.

Absurdity usually triggers laughter and humour, as usual.

Pastor Paul replied, ‘Would you like to have my spare tyre and bald head too?’ He smiled. People around me started to laugh but I was lost for words.

Without any hesitation, he held my hands and imparted something into my spirit that orchestrated a deep work of God that has shifted my paradigm about his ministry. For all I know, I have crossed a threshold that took me from my comfort zone to an unknown frontier.

I absolutely have no regrets that I have expressed this absurdity.

In July 2013, my wife, Hephzibah, and I visited CKRM (Christ Kingdom Reign Majestically) Petaling Jaya for the first time. However, we felt the need to receive more empowerment from this ministry in order to develop ourselves for God’s Kingdom purpose. So, from October 2013 onwards, we started to attend the empowerment services at CKRM Petaling Jaya on a more regular basis. Surprisingly, and strangely, each visit has led to even more uncontrollable stirrings within me. The call of God to return to leading a ministry (that we once held) began to stir and unfold.

It was a stirring that I could not deny of its God-origin. On 23rd December 2013, I decided to notify the pastor of FOLA that my wife and I have decided to answer the apostolic calling that God has placed in our lives to be involved in the ministry of CKRM in the new year of 2014. Both of us have received his blessing to serve in CKRM. Praise the Lord!

Hephzibah and I visited CKRM Singapore in early January of 2014. We wanted to get more acquainted with the CKRM ministry. During our stay there, we felt led to take a further step to move into our calling in the ministry of CKRM. On 6th January 2014, Hephzibah and I were ordained by Rev. Liu Tsia Fang, the president of AGLOW International (Chinese Chapter), Pastor Paul Ang and Pastor Esther as pastors for CKRM Petaling Jaya. (Rev Liu is also the Chairman of Singapore Christian Prayer House and and an Advisor of CKRM Christian Centre Singapore).

It is no wonder that the appointment of the captain of the USS Enterprise (Star Trek) to explore, discover, and to go boldly beyond the frontier has captivated my heart and my spirit. There is a similar quest in me to understand and to discover more of the mysteries of God, as well as to explore new terrains in the spiritual realm. The journey has begun. Stay tuned.

An Edifying Comment

Thanks for your exhortation to remain faithful to the ministry that has been entrusted to me.

There is great zeal and enthusiasm each time you posted your WhatsApp messages with testimonies. This has impacted ministers, leaders and believers to experience the out of the box manifestations and more importantly a transformed life.

The fire that is released through this ministry has touched the remnant of the church to become a growing movement worldwide. The pandemic served to identify those who are seeking for personal encounter with the fire of God.

The zoom technology is an alternative solution to the restriction imposed on physical proximity. The fire of God knows no limitation and barrier to the fire starters.

The chief challenge faced in the world is fear. The pandemic has uncovered the idol of fear in the world. Some politicians have taken advantage of the pandemic to serve their own appetite. Fear has twisted the truth to bend our worship towards a lie. The worship of Baal fed on twisted truth. The reality is painted and propagated by those who turned the truth into a lie.

The fire of God consumed every form of idols of fear. This ministry is one of the solution to address this global fear. The world has yet to see what this fire can do to remove this fear. Let your fire impartation reap more global fire starters as you have envisioned.

Covid Pandemic - The Unprecedented Shaking

The pandemic has not only shaken the entire world system, but also the spiritual climate in unprecedented ways, setting the stage for the greatest revival in the harvesting of souls and setting the world on fire for Jesus. Nations are locked down. Fear and anxieties prevail, and the churches are not spared. Many church services and ministries are disrupted and services going online.

Spiritually, it is a wake-up call and a time of urgent reflection on what God is doing. Is the church worship of God programmed so much like the world system that we ought to be delivered from “Egypt”? God’s ministries have to be realigned with what God is doing today. It will be no longer business as usual for the Church. House Churches will be the new norm just as the early Churches, preparing the way for the Lord to pour out His Spirit on ALL FLESH (Joel 2:28. Romans 9:25-26), filling the earth with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord (Habakkuk 2:14).

When we were in Bay Area (USA), God used our ministry to demonstrate His love and raw power through His word that stunned many respected ministers of God, including some influential people (Mark 16:20, 1 Corinthians 2:4).

Having encountered the fire of God, our new acquaintance desired that Hollywood should have a taste of the awesome encounter with the fire of God too, and wanted so much to connect us to her friend, a Hollywood movie producer. We know that this glorious flame will set Hollywood ablaze with the zeal and fire for God but we have to await His time.

God also gives people dreams about our ministry. Praise God!

Nancy Vuu is a famous American fashion designer. God gave her a dream, telling her that there is a 'Paul' to come who will impart the roar of the Lion of Judah's anointing to her. In obedience, she came to our AFM Stockton's prayer fellowship where her gift was activated. After being imparted with the anointing, she went to address California Women’s Conference in Longbeach attended by 10,000 women including celebrities from Hollywood and politicians. Praise God! Obedience - The Mark of Sonship

God sets a standard for His called and chosen. The higher the calling, the greater the degree of obedience required. Before He uses the called to a higher realm of serving Him, He will test them deeply.

In 1 Samuel 15:3, God commanded King Saul, “Now go, attack the Amalekites and totally destroy everything that belongs to them. Do not spare them; put to death men and women, children and infants, cattle and sheep, camels and donkeys.”

However, Saul did not fully obey God. In 1 Samuel 15:9, “But Saul and the army spared Agag and the best of the sheep and cattle, the fat calves and lambs–everything that was good. These they were unwilling to destroy completely, but everything that was despised and weak they totally destroyed.”

Disobedience is evil in God’s sight. Samuel told Saul in 1 Samuel 15:19, “Why did you not obey the Lord? Why did you pounce on the plunder and do evil in the eyes of the Lord?”

Samuel further added in 1 Samuel 15:22-23, “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the voice of the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of divination, and arrogance like the evil of idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, He has rejected you as king.’

Saul disobeyed because of the fear of his soldiers. He told Samuel in 1 Samuel 15:24, “I have sinned. I violated the Lord’s command and your instructions. I was afraid of the people and so I gave in to them.”

As a result of Saul’s disobedience, Samuel said to him in 1 Samuel 15:28, “The Lord has torn the kingdom of Israel from you today and has given it to one of your neighbors–to one better than you.”

God’s calling upon our life is a treasure that we must value and honour.

It takes humility to obey the voice of God and obedience is a mark of true Sonship. A man of God wrote:- “God is not pleased by religious activity. He is pleased by faithful works and our obedience to Him. When we start to fear the people leaving more than we fear God leaving, we departed from true faith.”

In my book, I shared that I gave up my luxurious fine-living, secular biz, wealth including converting my office units in the prime commercial district of Singapore and dedicating them to God due to my zeal for Him and my trust in Him.

However, God never fails and as He says in Isaiah 1:19, “If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land.” And in Matthew 6:33, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Method of Channelling the Anointing - Prophetic Acts

Our God is in the business of innovation. He is very creative like the ways He channelled His anointing through the vessels He used.

The methods employed to channel the anointing in every ministry are different and creatively innovative.

To heal a man of blindness, He employed the use the mud and saliva.

"After saying this, he spit on the ground, made some mud with the saliva, and put it on the man’s eyes. “Go,” he told him, “wash in the Pool of Siloam” (this word means “Sent”). So the man went and washed, and came home seeing." (John 9:6, 7 NIV)

To defeat the giant Goliath who was armed to the teeth, He used a 17 years boy armed with a sling and five small stones.

David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” As the Philistine moved closer to attack him, David ran quickly toward the battle line to meet him. Reaching into his bag and taking out a stone, he slung it and struck the Philistine on the forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell facedown on the ground. So David triumphed over the Philistine with a sling and a stone; without a sword in his hand he struck down the Philistine and killed him. (1 Samuel 17:45-50 NIV)

To deliver King Saul from being tormented by the evil spirit, the Lord used David to play the lyre.

Now the Spirit of the Lord had departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord tormented him. Saul’s attendants said to him, “See, an evil spirit from God is tormenting you. Let our lord command his servants here to search for someone who can play the lyre. He will play when the evil spirit from God comes on you, and you will feel better.” So Saul said to his attendants, “Find someone who plays well and bring him to me.” One of the servants answered, “I have seen a son of Jesse of Bethlehem who knows how to play the lyre. He is a brave man and a warrior. He speaks well and is a fine-looking man. And the Lord is with him.” (1 Samuel 16:14-18 NIV)

Whenever the spirit from God came on Saul, David would take up his lyre and play. Then relief would come to Saul; he would feel better, and the evil spirit would leave him. (1 Samuel 16:23 NIV)

The most important thing is that the anointing is genuine, it is from the Holy Spirit and the fruit of the ministry is good—Jesus is proclaimed and souls are saved, people are set free and healed, lives are touched and transformed, individuals are empowered and gifts are activated.

With these good fruits, we will know for sure that the anointing on the man and the ministry is genuine. The genuineness of the anointing is of primary importance while the method is just secondary. No one should be stumbled by the methods employed.

While we are not to copy the method employed by another ministry, we must also recognize the unique way God has instructed us to channel the anointing from our own ministry. Every one of us should be able to humble ourselves to acknowledge that the Lord has all the freedom to choose to manifest and channel His anointing in whatever way He wills and pleases. He is Lord! Not us.

God is doing many things in the last days. Prophetic Pioneer Bill Hamon wrote in his book, "Personally, I never want to be found resisting or fighting any new thing that God is doing within His church."

The Power of the Word

There is no need to debate or argue over doctrine. Jesus is the Word. He will defend and confirm His word by the signs that accompanies it (Mark 16:20). The word is very explosive if it is spoken under the anointing of the Holy Spirit

As such, the Word must go forth with power, not a doctrinal test but a power test. Power is the realm of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:4, 4:20).

When I was asked how the apologists and seminarians would see these statements, my response was to let the Word gives them a definite power encounter and knocks some godly sense into their heads.

Ministry of Fire & Glory

Ministry of Fire & Glory ... (2 Chronicles 7:1-2) .. raising up a new wine of Torchbearers (Fire Starters) to carry His fire and glory.

Isaiah 60:2

“For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth,

And deep darkness the people;

But the LORD will ARISE over you,

And His glory will be SEEN upon you.”
