In 2015/2016, Rev David Wu 吴霆牧师 invited me to speak in 3 revival conferences in the Elijah School of Prophets in San Jose.
In the class, David Wu taught:- "There are different types of prophets. One of the types is the power prophet or 'dunamis' prophet like Moses and Elijah who carry the kingdom of God within them. This is a new generation of fearless prophets God is raising up in these last days. Wherever they go, the Kingdom of God will go with them. They are like the cowboys, talk very little and take you up on a challenge and lifting their guns (weapons) to demonstrate to you who is more powerful."
He further added: "This type of prophets is very powerful. When they say something, something will happen. Something is established when they speak as the spoken word triggers into power."
The Kingdom of God is not about talking but of power, like Elijah challenging the 850 false prophets at Mount Carmel.
Some decades ago, the late Derek Prince shared that at the closing of this age, the practitioners of the occult will resist the representatives of the gospel in the same ways the magicians of Egypt, Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses. They resisted Moses so will these false teachers also resist the truth, men of corrupt minds, disapproved concerning the faith as explained by Paul in 2 Timothy 3:8-9, 13.
However, they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all in the showdown like the showdown between Moses and the Egyptian magicians and the challenge between Elijah and the 450 prophets of Baal at Mount Carmel (1 King 18), to determine which snake is stronger or the God that will answer with fire.
Exodus 7:10-12
“So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the LORD commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake. Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts: Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs.”
1 Kings 18:36-39
At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “O LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command. Answer me, O LORD, answer me, so these people will know that you, O LORD, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.” Then the fire of the LORD fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench. When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The LORD–he is God! The LORD–he is God!”
We are living in the most exciting times where God is unleashing the Arsenal of His lethal fire power against the power of evil (Jeremiah 50:25). The showdown will put the manifest presence of His glory on display for the world and the outcome will draw the hearts of the people back to God.
