Romans 8:14 says that those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. If we are led by the Spirit of God, then we must be walking in the Spirit to do what the Lord commands us to do according to His will and His way. For the sinful flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful flesh. The Spirit and the sinful flesh are in conflict with each other. If you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law (Galatians 5:17-18).
The works of the Holy Spirit are done through man's spirit while the works of the enemy are all done through man's sinful flesh.
Isaiah 55:8
‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,'
declares the LORD.
Isaiah 55:9
'As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.’
Moses wanted to continue to find favour with God so in Exodus 33:13, he told the Lord, “If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”
It is a tremendous blessing to be credited with His righteousness if we believe in Him to do the works in His will and in His way. Genesis 15:6, “Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.”
Matthew 6:33
But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
Should we lack God’s supply in our ministries, we need to examine ourselves and do a spiritual check-up on our works with God. Obedience to do the will of God in His way is a mark of Sonship and as Hudson Taylor quoted, “God's WORK done in God's WAY will never lack God's SUPPLY.”
