Arise, Shine for His Manifest Glory Will Rest Upon His Anointed

Isaiah 60:1-2, 5 (The Glory of Zion)

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory APPEARS over you. Then you will look and be RADIANT, your heart will throb and SWELL WITH JOY; the wealth on the seas will be brought to you, to you the riches of the nations will come.”

We are in the season of greater glory (Haggai 2:9) that God will pour down His Spirit on ALL PEOPLE (Joel 2:28).

In greater measure, God’s anointing that rests upon His chosen earthly vessel is the evidential manifest glory that rests upon His anointed. God gives the Spirit without limit (John 3:34). Every disciple is a believer but not every believer is a disciple. This is because a radical true disciple will obey and do the will of the Father regardless the price that he has to bear for the obedience. This is the mark of true Sonship and is true humility.

Hence, the degree to which we walk in true spiritual authority is determined by the degree to which the Spirit of God and the Glory of God evidentially rests upon us with demonstration of signs putting our Lord Jesus Christ on display for the world. A disciple of Christ lives a consecrated life fully surrendered to the Lord.

D. L. Moody - “The world has yet to see what God can do through a man who is totally surrendered to Him.” William Booth - “The greatest of a man’s power is the measure of his surrender.”

Example of men who walked with great spiritual power and authority:-

  1. Exodus 34:29-30 (The Radiant Face of Moses) “When Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken with the LORD. When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, his face was radiant, and they were afraid to come near him”. (Read Isaiah 60:1-2, 5, 2 Cor 3:7-8)
  1. Luke 8:46-47 But Jesus said, “Someone touched me; I know that power has gone out from me. Then the woman, seeing that she could not go unnoticed, came trembling and fell at his feet. In the presence of all the people, she told why she had touched him and how she had been instantly healed.”
  1. Acts 5:15, “As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by.”
  1. Acts 19:11-12, “God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.”

A man of God depicted, “Glory is the manifested presence of Jesus. Revival is filled with stories of His manifest presence resting upon His people. HE lives in all believers, but the glory of His presence comes to rest on only a few.”

If the Spirit of God and His glory rests upon upon you, the insults and criticisms that will come upon you will be the confirmation of you being chosen as His earthly vessel as per 1 Peter 4:14 says, “If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.”

Never dishonor God by touching His manifest glory, especially when God is resting His manifest glory on His earthen vessel. When the Lord said in 1 Chronicles 16:22, “Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm,” He meant not to touch the instrument or vessel that is hosting the manifest presence of His glory.

The earthly vessel whom God rests His Spirit and His Glory upon him  carries great spiritual power and authority. The Spirit of God and His glory is the Ark of Covenant which can bless or destroy.

Uzzah died because he touched the Ark:-

1 Chronicles 13:9-10

“When they came to the threshing floor of Kidon, Uzzah reached out his hand to steady the ark, because the oxen stumbled. The LORD’S anger burned against Uzzah, and he struck him down because he had put his hand on the ark. So he died there before God.”

Ananias and his wife Sapphira lied to the Holy Spirit who was resting on Peter and they both died instantly:-

Acts 5:3-5

“Then Peter said, 'Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.' When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened.”

The Ark of the Lord  blessed Obed-Edomite and his entire household:-

2 Samuel 6:9-11

“David was afraid of the LORD that day and said, 'How can the ark of the LORD ever come to me?' He was not willing to take the ark of the LORD to be with him in the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite. The ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite for three months, and the LORD blessed him and his entire household.”

God blesses, honours and protects His chosen and anointed earthly vessels who are the apples of His eye … for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye–I will surely raise my hand against them so that their slaves will plunder them (Zechariah 2.8-9). Even David did not dare to touch Saul who was God’s anointed …“Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm” (1 Chronicles 16:22).

God bless!
